We stayed at the associated boutique hotel prior to heading off on a cruise and ate here several times. It was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was absolutely delicious, the menu offered choices to suit our tastes. The bar offered a wide range of options... I doubt you will find anywhere more friendly and helpful.
Hand-rolled the same morning
The kitchen is unapologetically Italian: hand-rolled pasta, slow-braised meats, lemons and capers, and the kind of olive oil that tastes of the field it came from. The menu changes with the season and the catch.
Above the kitchen, ten boutique bedrooms set into the first floor of a Victorian warehouse on the old city walls. Quiet, hosted properly, and a short walk from anywhere worth being in Southampton.
